BioWorks
Challenge:
As a pioneer in biological control and nutritional products, BioWorks sought to clarify and elevate its brand presence in the competitive horticulture and specialty agriculture markets. In a marketplace filled with weak messaging, non-existent brand differentiation, and a saturation of “bio-named” competitors, BioWorks was poised to leverage their respected product portfolio and roll out a bold new approach that would separate them from the sea of sameness.

Solution:
We began by assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each of their competitors. This included evaluation of each company’s products, services, and approaches to marketing. We then moved into a weeks-long phase of interviews with employees, customers, and industry partners to get a comprehensive picture of how BioWorks was perceived. The results were enlightening, not just to us, but to BioWorks’ senior leadership as well. This process guided us to position the company as a team of dedicated researchers who would go the extra mile (and well beyond) in pursuit of their customers’ success. We created a series of true stories about BioWorks team members working long hours and travelling extended distances to find innovative approaches to a grower’s problems. The campaign was executed with break-through design and photography, and summed up with a new brand tagline, “Above and beyond is where we begin.”
